Football Recap: Mission Viejo's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Mission Viejo won the last time they faced Edison and things went their way on Friday too. The Diablos strolled past the Chargers with points to spare, taking the game 37-20. The Diablos pushed the score to 30-6 by the end of the third, a deficit the Chargers cut but never quite recovered from.

A big part of Mission Viejo's win came down to the chemistry between Luke Fahey and his top target Jack Junker. Fahey threw for 374 yards and two TDs while picking up 11.3 yards per attempt while Junker gained 189 total yards and three touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Junker a new career-high in receiving yards (181). KJ Woodbury JR also helped out as he racked up 168 receiving yards.

The victory (which was Mission Viejo's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.8 points over those games. As for Edison, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.
