Football Recap: Mission Viejo Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Mission Viejo entered their tilt with Edison on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They strolled past the Chargers with points to spare, taking the game 37-20. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Diablos' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Chargers are ranked 65th).

A big part of Mission Viejo's win came down to the chemistry between Luke Fahey and his top target Jack Junker. Fahey threw for 374 yards and two TDs while picking up 11.3 yards per attempt while Junker gained 189 total yards and three touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Junker a new career-high in receiving yards (181). KJ Woodbury JR also helped out as he racked up 168 receiving yards.

Mission Viejo's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Edison, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Mission Viejo has already played their next game, a 76-49 win against Los Alamitos on the 30th. As for Edison, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-9 loss against San Clemente on the 31st.
