Basketball Preview: Crossland Cavaliers vs. Parkdale Panthers
The Crossland Cavaliers will head out on the road to challenge the Parkdale Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Crossland comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Thursday, Crossland took a serious blow against the Hornets, falling 70-34. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Crossland in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now lost seven in a row.
Meanwhile, even though High Point scored an imposing 57 points on Thursday, Parkdale still came out on top. Parkdale took their contest against the Eagles 64-57. Winning is a bit easier when you make five more threes than your opponent, as Parkdale did.
Mark Freeland continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jairus Giray, who scored 12 points.
Crossland dropped their record down to 0-15 with that defeat, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Parkdale, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.
