Softball Game Preview: Fremont Firebirds vs. MacDonald Condor

The Fremont Firebirds will square off against the MacDonald Condor at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Fremont is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They came up short against Cupertino, falling 14-6.

Molly Bobick made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Avani Malunjkar, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, MacDonald might've scored the first runs on Friday, but it was Saratoga who claimed the real prize. MacDonald lost 15-2 to Saratoga. The Condor have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

MacDonald saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ileyah Sanchez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Fremont's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for MacDonald, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

MacDonald's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Fremont has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game.
