Softball Preview: Howell Highlanders vs. Plymouth Wildcats        
        
		
            
 Howell is 8-2 against Plymouth since May of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success  on Wednesday. The Howell Highlanders are on the road again  to play the Plymouth Wildcats at 4:00  p.m. Both teams come into the  contest bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 Last Saturday, Howell got the win against Petoskey  by a conclusive  7-1.
 Howell let  Emma Banfield and  Amelia Ott loose on the outfield. Banfield  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-2, while  Ott  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Ava Bunting, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Meanwhile, Plymouth had to endure  an  eight-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They blew past Garden City 10-4. Considering Plymouth's hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
 Howell now  has a winning record of 7-6-1. As for Plymouth, their  win (their first of the  season) made their record 1-6.
 Howell beat Plymouth 10-7  in their previous meeting  back in April of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Howell since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
