Volleyball Recap: Christ Covenant Comes Up Short

Christ Covenant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Lamar Raiders, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against Lamar this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-0 loss back in July.

The final score came out to 25-6, 25-10, 25-5.

Leading Lamar to victory were Sophie Dearing and Olivia Miles. Dearing had seven aces, while Miles had seven digs and three aces. With that strong performance, Dearing is now averaging an impressive 2.3 aces per game.

Christ Covenant's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Lamar, they pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christ Covenant will host Jackson Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lamar, they will be playing at home against Hartfield Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
