            Baseball Recap: Indian Rocks Christian Eagles vs. Clearwater Central Catholic Marauders        
        
		
        
        
            Indian Rocks Christian won against Canterbury  last Monday with three  runs and they decided to stick to that  run total again  on Thursday. The Eagles won by a  run and slipped past the Clearwater Central Catholic Marauders  3-2. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered  a  2-1  loss the last time these two teams met.
 Hunter Maddox made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only  one  hit while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. He has become a key player for Indian Rocks Christian: the team is undefeated when he allows at  most  one  hit, but 8-9 otherwise. Maddox was also stellar in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances. What's more,  he posted two  doubles, the most he's  had since back in February.

 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Noah Mortellite, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those  three  hits gave  him a new career-high.
The  victory made it two in a row for Indian Rocks Christian and  bumps their season record up to 12-9. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3  runs in those games. As for Clearwater Central Catholic, their defeat was  their sixth straight at home, which  dropped their record down to 5-15.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Indian Rocks Christian will face off against Wharton at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 7.3  runs per game this season. As for Clearwater Central Catholic, they will square off against St. Petersburg Catholic at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
