Volleyball Recap: Pelham Memorial Takes a Loss

Pelham Memorial and Somers squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Pelham Memorial had to settle for second. They came up short against the Tuskers, falling 3-0. The Pelicans just can't catch a break and have now endured six defeats in a row.

While Pelham Memorial was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Somers' winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-14, 25-22.

Pelham Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Somers, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4-1 record this season.

Pelham Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Somers, they will face off against Tappan Zee at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
