Softball Recap: Warren Central Comes Up Short

Warren Central extended their losing streak to eight on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 3-14 in the process. They lost 17-5 to the Ben Davis Giants. The Warriors were not able to make up for their loss to the Giants from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Kennedi Nicholson was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Gabi Hilliard, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

As for Ben Davis, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for their hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

On Ben Davis' side, Jaela Prezzy was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four runs gave Prezzy a new career-high. Ashlynn Chambers was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Looking ahead, Warren Central will face off against Indianapolis Bishop Chatard at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Ben Davis, they will challenge North Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Giants' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
