Volleyball Game Preview: Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs vs. St. Francis DeSales Stallions

The Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs will be taking part in a tournament against the St. Francis DeSales Stallions at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Bloom-Carroll comes in on seven and St. Francis DeSales on four.

Bloom-Carroll is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They put the hurt on Linden-McKinley with a sharp 3-0 win.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Bloom-Carroll took every set by at least 18 points. The final score came out to 25-1, 25-6, 25-7.

Bloom-Carroll's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Sienna Hogue, who had seven digs and five aces, and Kylee Reiser, who hit 88.9% for eight kills and eight aces and five digs. Those eight aces gave Reiser a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Bloom-Carroll was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 24 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 29 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, St. Francis DeSales made easy work of Granville on Monday and carried off a 3-0 victory.

The win didn't come easy: Granville scored at least 21 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-23, 25-22.

St. Francis DeSales' victory bumped their record up to 17-7. As for Bloom-Carroll, their win bumped their record up to 23-1.

Bloom-Carroll came out on top in a nail-biter against St. Francis DeSales in their previous matchup back in September, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Stallions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
