Baseball Recap: Roanoke Rapids Starts Season with Win at Home

Roanoke Rapids gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. Everything went their way against the Camden County Bruins as the Roanoke Rapids Yellowjackets made off with an 11-1 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Yellowjackets as it put an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Blaine Warren was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Elias, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Camden County's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Roanoke Rapids didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 9-5 victory against Southern Nash on the 4th. Camden County has also already played their next game (against Gates County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
