Softball Recap: Howard Tech Hustlin' Tigers vs. South Pittsburg Pirates
Sadly, Howard Tech is still looking for their first win of the season after eight games. They suffered a rough 17-6 loss at the hands of the South Pittsburg Pirates on Monday. One positive for Howard Tech, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
For South Pittsburg's part, Macy Mashburn was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Mashburn was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.
In other batting news, Destiny Winters was a standout: she went 1-for-1 with three RBI, a triple, and a run. Another player making a difference was Kynleigh Rice, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Howard Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for South Pittsburg, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 11-4.
