Volleyball Recap: Oklahoma City S Comes Up Short on the Road Against Community Christian

Oklahoma City S kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Community Christian Royals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Storm of the 3-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2022.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 20-25, 25-18, 25-20.

Community Christian can attribute much of their success to Pierson Smith, who had 32 assists and 18 digs. Those 18 digs gave Smith a new career-high.

Community Christian's victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Oklahoma City S will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mount St. Mary at 6:00 p.m. on October 7. As for Community Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Bishop McGuinness on the 28th.
