Football Recap: Carlyle Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Carlyle extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 0-6. They came up short against the Chester Yellowjackets, falling 42-21. The Indians/Lady Indians were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-6.

As for Chester, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 21 points or more this season.

Chester got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tashawn Palacio out in front who picked up 74 receiving yards and two scores. Palacio was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 64 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Trayton Peters, who threw for 157 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 passes.

Carlyle will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sparta/Steeleville at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Chester, they will host Dupo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Peters and Deegan Prater.
