Basketball Game Preview: New Waverly Bulldogs vs. Eisenhower Eagles

The New Waverly Bulldogs and the Eisenhower Eagles will round out the year against one another at at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

New Waverly's tournament run continued when they took on Grapeland on Saturday. New Waverly lost to Grapeland on the road by a 65-51 margin. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1223rd, while the Sandies are ranked 272nd).

Meanwhile, Eisenhower was not able to break out of their rough patch last Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 54-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dekaney.

New Waverly has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Eisenhower, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.
