Preview: Hialeah Educational Academy Biggie vs. Miami Country Day Spartans

Hialeah Educational Academy is 0-8 against Miami Country Day since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Hialeah Educational Academy Biggie will be staying on the road to face off against the Miami Country Day Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on February 15th. Hialeah Educational Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Miami Country Day likes a good challenge.

With a playoff game on the line, Hialeah Educational Academy rose to the challenge on Saturday. They secured a 80-76 W over the Sharks. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Hialeah Educational Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chris Levy led the charge by scoring 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reece Randolph, who scored 21 points.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Miami Country Day's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 76-52 walloping at the hands of Westminster Academy. Miami Country Day has not had much luck with Westminster Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Herbert Wilson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 30 points and 17 rebounds. That was a full 57.7% of Miami Country Day's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ashton Reid was another key contributor, scoring two points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Hialeah Educational Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. As for Miami Country Day, their loss dropped their record down to 16-11.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Hialeah Educational Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 69.5 points per game. However, it's not like Miami Country Day struggles in that department as they've been averaging 70.6 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.

Hialeah Educational Academy came up short against Miami Country Day when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 64-51. Can Hialeah Educational Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
