North Mason dropped their record down to 5-3-1 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Olympic Trojans, falling 14-0. The Bulldogs were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the three matchups prior), but the Trojans' pitchers proved too tough.
As for Olympic, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games.
For Olympic's part, Brenda Morrison made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Morrison has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs.
In other batting news, Kennedy Haas was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Evee Abbay was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs.
Coming up, North Mason will challenge Ellensburg at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Olympic, they will face off against Spanaway Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans are facing the Sentinels at the right time seeing as the Sentinels are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
