Volleyball Recap: South View Takes a Loss

South View lost against Purnell Swett back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Tigers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Rams 25-13 in the first set.

South View started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 13-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-23.

Nitalia Carter paced South View's offense, picking up eight kills. Carter got some help from Grace Horne and her nine assists. Jaelani McCormick controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

South View's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Purnell Swett, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Looking ahead, South View will venture away from home to take on Westover at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Tigers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Purnell Swett, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Pinecrest on the 4th.
