Widefield hasn't had much luck against Canon City recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Gladiators will challenge the Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Widefield will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
If Harrison wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Widefield, they should've done a better job of containing Leila Brown. The Gladiators came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 3-1 on Thursday for which the team can thank Brown, who had five kills, three digs, and three aces. She is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.
Widefield was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-15, 19-25, 25-20.

Widefield can attribute much of their success to Janae Johnson, who had eight digs and eight assists, and Katie Walderon, who had ten kills, eight digs, two blocks, and two aces. Those eight digs gave Walderon a new career-high.
Meanwhile, Canon City got the win against Mesa Ridge on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0.
While Canon City won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-13, 26-24.
Widefield better focus on containing Sophie LeDoux and Raegen John as the pair were huge in Canon City's win. LeDoux had 14 assists and 11 digs, while John had 29 digs and four assists.
Widefield's record is now 11-3. As for Canon City, their record now sits at 7-3.
Widefield suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Canon City in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Gladiators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
