Softball Recap: Spring Hill Wins Going Away Against Nacogdoches

Spring Hill never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Nacogdoches Dragons. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Not much got past Abbye Mcfaul, who gave up just four hits to keep Nacogdoches off the board.

At the plate, Spring Hill let Josie Gray and Peyton Dees run wild. Gray scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Dees scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Khloe Saxon, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Spring Hill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 5-1-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win made it two in a row for Spring Hill and bumps their season record up to 12-9-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games. As for Nacogdoches, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Spring Hill will square off against Chapel Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Spring Hill is facing Chapel Hill at the right time seeing as Chapel Hill is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Nacogdoches, they will face off against Hallsville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
