Baseball Game Preview: Noxon Red Devils vs. Polson Pirates

Noxon is 0-3 against Polson since April of 2025 but things could change on Saturday. The Red Devils will take on the Pirates at 4:30 p.m. Polson took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Noxon, who comes in off a win.

Noxon took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They blew past Browning 20-3. The Red Devils' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Dallas Weaver made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Weaver was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three runs and three RBI.

In other batting news, Zach Sears was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Eli Sly was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

Noxon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .727. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Polson's offense. They fell just short of Lincoln County by a score of 1-0 on Friday. The game marked the first time this season in which the Pirates were not able to get on the board.

Polson's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Noxon, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-8.

Noxon suffered a grim 14-2 defeat to Polson in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
