Recap: Russell Red Devils vs. Blazer Tomcats

The Russell Red Devils lost against the Blazer Tomcats back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Russell ended up on the wrong side of a tough 67-42 walloping at the hands of Blazer. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Russell has scored all season.

Russell's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elijah Neel, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Rimmer, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.

Russell's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Blazer, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Russell will take on Lewis County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Blazer, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Morgan County at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kentucky (Morgan County is ranked 33rd, while Blazer is ranked 19th).
