Softball Recap: Fort Wayne Snider Takes a Loss

Fort Wayne Snider had lost three straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 9-15 to make it four. They lost 17-4 to the Garrett Railroaders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Railroaders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 on Saturday.

Ameera Kummer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Raelyn Edwards, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

As for Garrett, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-8. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games.

On Garrett's side, the team relied heavily on Jayiden Feicht, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Feicht has posted since back in April. Remi Winebrenner was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.

Fort Wayne Snider and Garrett are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Panthers will square off against Fort Wayne North Side at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Garrett, they will take on Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
