Soccer Recap: Urbana Takes a Loss

After flying high against Richwoods last Wednesday, Urbana came back down to earth. The Tigers fell just short of the Normal Community Ironmen by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Urbana can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 154th, while Normal Community are ranked 40th).

Emir Martinez and Fidany Mukadi scored both of Urbana's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 15 goals.

Urbana's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-6-2. As for Normal Community, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-3-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Urbana will face off against rival Normal West at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Normal Community is set to take on their familiar foe Manual at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
