Softball Recap: Cardinal O'Hara Victorious

Cardinal O'Hara gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Archbishop Carroll Patriots. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 5-1 victory the Patriots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Hayden Sissons was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those doubles were her first of the season.

In other batting news, Emily Dill was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 3-for-4. She also scored two runs, marking her first of the season. Lindsey Cathers was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

The win made it two in a row for Cardinal O'Hara and bumps their season record up to 11-2. As for Archbishop Carroll, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Cardinal O'Hara will face off against rival Archbishop Wood at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Archbishop Carroll is set to square off against their familiar foe Nazareth Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
