Softball Recap: Ketchikan Find Success

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Ketchikan had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against the Kenai Central Kardinals by a score of 14-9. The victory continues a trend for the Kings in their matchups with the Kardinals: they've now won three in a row.

Vienna Pahang and Mylee Gray did most of the damage at the plate: Pahang went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base, while Gray went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and two RBI. Those four hits gave Gray a new career-high.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Ketchikan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kenai Central only managed four hits.

Ketchikan's win bumped their record up to 15-17-2. As for Kenai Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-15.

Coming up, Ketchikan will take on Sitka at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. The Kings will need to watch out since the Wolves have now posted at least ten runs in their last six games. Kenai Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
