Recap: Aucilla Christian Warriors vs. Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks
With a playoff game on the line, the Aucilla Christian Warriors rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 49-16 victory over the Tiger Sharks on the road. Aucilla Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Lauchlin Faglie, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Riley Rutledge, who scored 14 points along with four steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Port St. Joe struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Aucilla Christian racked up 13 assists.
Aucilla Christian's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Port St. Joe, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.
Aucilla Christian will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Crossroad Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully Aucilla Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Wednesday. Port St. Joe does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
