Softball Recap: Yulee Makes It 11 in a Row at Home

Yulee took a 12-run defeat the last time they faced off against Baldwin, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hornets narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Indians 5-3. Winning may never get old, but the Hornets sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

The team relied heavily on Alani Goicoechea, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Kyli Mathis also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Yulee pushed their record up to 13-8 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Baldwin, their loss dropped their record down to 16-7.

As of now, neither Yulee nor the Indians have any future games scheduled.
