Basketball Game Preview: Ocean Lakes Dolphins vs. Landstown Eagles

Ocean Lakes is 0-10 against Landstown since January of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Ocean Lakes Dolphins will square off against the Landstown Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Ocean Lakes has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

On Friday, Ocean Lakes lost to Salem on the road by a 54-38 margin.

Meanwhile, Landstown faced Green Run in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Landstown fell just short of Green Run by a score of 59-57. The Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Landstown saw an underclassman step up: freshman Damien Robinson went 8 of 13 on his way to 23 points and five rebounds. Robinson's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaevion Cleveland, who posted ten points.

Ocean Lakes' defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Landstown, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 8-2.

Ocean Lakes was dealt a bruising 77-34 defeat at the hands of Landstown in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Ocean Lakes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
