Baseball Game Preview: Danbury Hatters vs. Norwalk Bears

The Danbury Hatters will head out on the road to face off against the Norwalk Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Danbury barely beat Stamford the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hatters' pitchers stepped up to hand the Black Knights a 6-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Hatters haven't had any issues with the Black Knights recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on Giani Chieffalo, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Jacob Encarnacion was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs.

Danbury was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Norwalk put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over Westhill.

Norwalk's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Danbury, their record now sits at 3-10.
