Basketball Preview: Woodville Eagles vs. Newton Eagles
After three games on the road, Woodville is heading back home. They will take on the Newton Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Woodville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 66-60 to the Lumberjacks.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Newton, who are still winless after their seventh matchup. They took a 71-56 bruising from Hemphill last Tuesday.
Woodville's loss dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Newton, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Woodville strolled past the Eagles when the teams last played back in January by a score of 57-40. Does Woodville have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
