Baseball Recap: Bel Air Wins Going Away Against Fallston

Bel Air lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Fallston, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's game. The Bobcats put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 11-1 win on Monday. This was a revenge game for the Bobcats: when they faced off against the Cougars on Friday, they had to take a 9-7 loss.

Sean Roberts made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Bel Air is 4-1 when Roberts allows one or fewer earned runs, but 0-8 otherwise. Roberts was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Bel Air let Braxton Stocking and Sean Ferrell run wild. Stocking went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Ferrell went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Stocking is becoming a predictor of Bel Air's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 2-8 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Connor Vecchioni, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Bel Air was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fallston only posted a batting average of .217.

Bel Air's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Fallston, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6.
