Preview: Dunnellon Tigers vs. Oak Hall Eagles
The Dunnellon Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Oak Hall Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Dunnellon has not done well against Vanguard recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Dunnellon managed a 52-47 win over Vanguard. The win was all the more spectacular given Dunnellon's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 629th, while Vanguard is ranked 126th).
Sean Martin was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 12 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him. Chris Henry was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Oak Hall was able to grind out a solid victory over Interlachen last Wednesday, taking the game 59-49.
Dunnellon's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Oak Hall, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
