For the second straight game, Lakewood will face off against Ralston Valley. The Tigers will face off against the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Things were looking good for Lakewood after they put the first runs on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 10-7 to Ralston Valley. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Mathis Joens was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and seven unearned) runs off three hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.

Joens wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Harrison Meade, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Bert Myers also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Ralston Valley has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lakewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
