Basketball Recap: Marcos de Niza Comes Up Short

Marcos de Niza was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a blow against the Cactus Shadows Falcons, falling 56-17. The Padres were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-13.

Marcos de Niza's loss came despite strong showings from Elyanna Carbajal and Leila Rodriguez. Carbajal posted two points and 14 rebounds, while Rodriguez earned four points. The dominant performance gave Carbajal a new career-high in rebounds.

Marcos de Niza's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Cactus Shadows, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
