Preview: New Town Eagles vs. Dunseith Dragons
The New Town Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Dunseith Dragons at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for New Town and five for Dunseith.
New Town suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Turtle Mountain, falling 62-26. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points New Town has scored all season.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Dunseith had to settle for a 57-54 defeat against Westhope/Newburg on Saturday. Dunseith has not had much luck with Westhope/Newburg recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
New Town now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Dunseith, they bumped their record down to 1-6 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.
New Town and Dunseith were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in December of 2019, but New Town came up empty-handed after a 53-52 loss. Can New Town avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
