Softball Recap: Cardinal Has No Trouble Against Harding

Cardinal won the last time they faced Harding and things went their way on Monday too. The Huskies were the clear victors by a 24-14 margin over the Skippers. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won three matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Kacie Carman was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Adelyn Grant, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Cardinal was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2025.

The victory made it two in a row for Cardinal and bumps their season record up to 4-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Harding, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coincidentally, Cardinal and Harding will both be playing Pymatuning Valley the next time they take the field. The Huskies will host the Lakers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Skippers will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
