Baseball Recap: St. Martin Finds Playoff Glory Versus Brandon

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only St. Martin walked away with it. They skirted past the Brandon Bulldogs 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Yellow Jackets: when they faced off against the Bulldogs on Friday, they had to take a 6-4 defeat.

St. Martin's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Lawrence, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run. Another was Kaden Walker, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

St. Martin's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-13. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Brandon, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bulldogs beat St. Martin by a score of 11-1 on Monday.
