Softball Preview: McMinn County Cherokees vs. Chattanooga Central Pounders
The McMinn County Cherokees will face off against the Chattanooga Central Pounders at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. McMinn County is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
McMinn County came up short against Soddy Daisy on Thursday, falling 16-4.
Addie Miller made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Chattanooga Central never let their opponents score on Thursday. They put the hurt on Tyner Academy with a sharp 12-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Pounders, who have now won six contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Navaeh Frank was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in March of 2024. Chattanooga Central's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for McMinn County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
