Manchester Township takes loss despite strong efforts from Madeline Nolan and Devyn Quigley

Recap: Manchester Township Hawks vs. Holy Spirit Spartans

It was a good run, but the Manchester Township Hawks unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to Holy Spirit 59-54.

Manchester Township's loss came despite strong showings from Devyn Quigley and Madeline Nolan. Quigley dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Nolan scored 18 points along with four steals and two blocks. That was a full 35.2% of Manchester Township's points, marking the 17th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kylie Miller was another key contributor, scoring two points along with three steals.

Manchester Township's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Holy Spirit, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-5.

Manchester Township will be playing in front of their home fans against Brick Township at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Brick Township will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 321st, while Manchester Township is ranked 75th). Holy Spirit on the road again on Monday and play against Bishop Eustace Prep at 5:00 p.m. on January 29th.
