Softball Recap: Miller School of Albemarle Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Miller School of Albemarle's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trinity Episcopal Titans on Friday. The match marked the first time this year in which the Mavericks were not able to get on the board.

Emelia DelCarmen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

Miller School of Albemarle is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5. As for Trinity Episcopal, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.

Coming up, Miller School of Albemarle will challenge Stuarts Draft at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mavericks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season. Trinity Episcopal does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
