Baseball Recap: Middle Tennessee Monarchs Comes Up Short

Middle Tennessee Monarchs had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 16-18 to make it four. They lost 6-0 to the St. Louis HomeSchool P Patriots. If Middle Tennessee Monarchs was looking for revenge after losing 4-1 to St. Louis HomeSchool P when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Middle Tennessee Monarchs saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Weiland, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

As for St. Louis HomeSchool P, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-12. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games.

On St. Louis HomeSchool P's side, not much got past Samuel Hart, who gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Middle Tennessee Monarchs off the board. Hart also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Patriots are undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 11-12 otherwise.

At the plate, Vinny Tornatore was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Isaiah Skaggs was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Middle Tennessee Monarchs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Louis HomeSchool P, they will take on Wake County HomeSchool at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
