Baseball Recap: Bay Springs Comes Up Short

Bay Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 16-0 to the Lake Hornets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 19-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Bay Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Lake, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bay Springs will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Clarkdale at 7:00 p.m. on March 18th. As for Lake, they will challenge Forest at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lake's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Forest's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
