Charlotte Catholic has gone a perfect 6-0 against Independence recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Charlotte Catholic Cougars will host the Independence Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Charlotte Catholic took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Providence, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Charlotte Catholic came out on top in a nail-biter against Providence on Friday, sneaking past 3-2.

The team relied heavily on Jon Fijalkowski, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Independence). They put the hurt on Mallard Creek with a sharp 12-2 victory on Friday. With that win, the Patriots brought their scoring average up to 7.5 runs per game.

Zachary Benton tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits.

On the hitting side, Don Thomas was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Anthony Mosher, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Independence always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

The victory got Independence back to even at 2-2. As for Charlotte Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Charlotte Catholic took their victory against Independence in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 19-7. Does Charlotte Catholic have another victory up their sleeve, or will Independence turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
