The loss was a bit of a surprise, as North Oconee came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Jackson County are ranked 65th).

Lake Oconee Academy's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Putnam County with a sharp 10-0 win. Lake Oconee Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by three goals or more this season.

Lake Oconee Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those five games. As for North Oconee, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-2.
