Baseball Game Preview: McPherson Bullpups vs. Rose Hill Rockets

McPherson is 8-2 against Rose Hill since June of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Bullpups will be playing at home against the Rockets. McPherson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11 runs per game this season.

McPherson lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Mulvane, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's game. The Bullpups blew past the Wildcats 10-4 on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bullpups needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Ian Razak was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brody Seidl, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with six stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Those six stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brock Richardson, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, Rose Hill unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of El Dorado by a score of 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Rockets have suffered since April 11, 2024.

McPherson's win bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Rose Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

McPherson couldn't quite finish off Rose Hill in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Bullpups avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
