Preview: Lowell vs. Newton South
The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. Lowell will square off against Newton South at 7:00 PM on Friday. Lowell are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the game prepared for a fight.
It was all tied up at halftime, but Lowell weren't quite Andover's equal in the second half when they met last Friday. Lowell had victory within their grasp but couldn't quite capture it as the squad lost 25-26 to Andover.
Meanwhile, Newton South put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They steamrollered Bedford 49-6. That looming 43-point mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Newton South yet.
Newton South's victory lifted them to 3-4 while Lowell's defeat dropped them down to 2-5. We'll see if Newton South can repeat their recent success or if Lowell bounce back and reverse their fortune.
