Basketball Game Preview: Zachary Broncos vs. Northshore Panthers

Having just played yesterday, the Zachary Broncos will jump right back in to play the Northshore Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Zachary is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Louisiana's top teams: Archbishop Hannan, who was ranked 12th at the time (Zachary was ranked fourth). The Broncos walked away with a 68-61 victory over the Hawks on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Broncos.

Zachary's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Ian Edmond, who posted 20 points and three steals, and Cambren Price, who put up 20 points. Those 20 points gave Price a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Givens, who earned ten points.

Northshore hadn't beaten Warren Easton on the road since December 29, 2015 but that history sure didn't bother them on Saturday. The Panthers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Fighting Eagles 71-29. That 42 point margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.

The win got Northshore back to even at 4-4. As for Zachary, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.

Everything came up roses for Zachary against Northshore in their previous matchup back in March of 2022, as the squad secured an 84-53 win. Will the Broncos repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
