Recap: Chaparral Wolverines vs. Castle View Sabercats
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Regis Jesuit, the Chaparral Wolverines were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Castle View by a score of 44-32. Given Chaparral's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Castle View is ranked 85th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chaparral found their leader in underclassman Lauren Thompson, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Thompson is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Reagan Lentell, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Chaparral's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Castle View, they bumped their record down to 6-9 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Chaparral the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Mountain Vista at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Mountain Vista focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven last Thursday. As for Castle View, they will head out on the road to face off against Ponderosa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
