Baseball Game Preview: Shadow Mountain Matadors vs. Paradise Honors Panthers

Shadow Mountain is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will look to defend their home field against the Paradise Honors Panthers at 3:45 p.m. Shadow Mountain has given up an average of 9.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Last Tuesday, Shadow Mountain didn't have quite enough to beat Dysart and fell 15-14.

Dylan Farrugia made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs while going 4-for-5. Another player making a difference was Jack Zauner, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Paradise Honors put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Cactus get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by six runs or more this season.

Paradise Honors let Kade Ashton and Kaden Kjer run wild. Ashton scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2, while Kjer scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases Ashton has posted since back in April of 2024. Joshua Green Jr. was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases.

Shadow Mountain's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4-1. As for Paradise Honors, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.

Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Shadow Mountain has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11 hits per game. However, it's not like Paradise Honors struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
